Yields: 1 serving
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 1-2 minutes
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons vegetable2 oil
1 tablespoon Nutella
Optional: vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving
Equipment:
12-ounce microwave-safe mug
Fork
Instructions:
Combine dry ingredients: In the mug, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well with a fork.
Add wet ingredients: Add the milk, oil, and Nutella to the mug. Stir until the batter is smooth and well combined.
Microwave: Place the mug in the microwave and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through. Keep a close eye on it as cooking times may vary depending on your microwave. The cake is done when it is puffed up and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool slightly: Let the mug cake cool for a minute or two before serving.
Serve: Enjoy your warm and gooey Nutella mug cake as is, or top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
Tips and Variations:
For a richer flavor, use whole milk instead of regular milk.
If you don't have Nutella, you can substitute it with any chocolate hazelnut spread.
Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the batter for extra flavor.
For a more decadent cake, add a tablespoon of chocolate chips to the batter.
If you want a cake with a more cake-like texture, add an extra tablespoon of flour to the batter.
