Yields: Approximately 12-15 cookies Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 8-10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Equipment:

  • Mixing bowls (medium and large)

  • Electric mixer (handheld or stand mixer)

  • Measuring cups and spoons

  • Rubber spatula

  • Parchment paper

  • Air fryer

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

    • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

    • In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.

    • Fold in the chocolate chips using a rubber spatula.

  2. Shape the Cookies:

    • Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper.

    • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded scoops of dough onto the parchment paper, leaving some space between each cookie to allow for spreading.

  3. Bake in the Air Fryer:

    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

    • Place the air fryer basket with the cookies in the air fryer.

    • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.

    • Let the cookies cool in the air fryer basket for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips for Success:

  • Use softened but not melted butter for the best cookie texture.

  • Don't overmix the dough, as this can lead to tough cookies.

  • Space the cookies out evenly in the air fryer basket to ensure even baking.

  • Adjust the baking time slightly depending on your air fryer model and the size of your cookies.

  • For extra flavor, try using different types of chocolate chips or adding chopped nuts to the dough.

Enjoy your air fryer chocolate chip cookies with a cold glass of milk for a classic treat!
