Yields: Approximately 12-15 cookies
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 8-10 minutes
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Equipment:
Mixing bowls (medium and large)
Electric mixer (handheld or stand mixer)
Measuring cups and spoons
Rubber spatula
Parchment paper
Air fryer
Instructions:
Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips using a rubber spatula.
Shape the Cookies:
Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper.
Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded scoops of dough onto the parchment paper, leaving some space between each cookie to allow for spreading.
Bake in the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Place the air fryer basket with the cookies in the air fryer.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.
Let the cookies cool in the air fryer basket for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips for Success:
Use softened but not melted butter for the best cookie texture.
Don't overmix the dough, as this can lead to tough cookies.
Space the cookies out evenly in the air fryer basket to ensure even baking.
Adjust the baking time slightly depending on your air fryer model and the size of your cookies.
For extra flavor, try using different types of chocolate chips or adding chopped nuts to the dough.
Enjoy your air fryer chocolate chip cookies with a cold glass of milk for a classic treat!
