Yields: 1 serving Prep time: 5 minutes Cook time: 2-3 minutes
Ingredients:
1/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup milk (any type)
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup chopped fresh or frozen peaches
1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional, or adjust to taste)
Pinch of salt
Optional: Toppings such as chopped nuts, seeds, fruit slices, or a dollop of yogurt
Instructions:
Combine Ingredients: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine rolled oats, milk, water, chopped peaches, maple syrup (if using), and salt.
Microwave: Microwave on high for 1 minute.
Stir: Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the mixture well.
Cook Further: Microwave for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the oatmeal is cooked through and has reached your desired consistency. Stir again halfway through cooking.
Let Stand: Let the oatmeal stand for a minute or two before serving to allow it to thicken slightly.
Serve: Top with your favorite toppings, such as chopped nuts, seeds, additional fruit slices, or a dollop of yogurt. Enjoy warm.
Tips & Variations:
Fresh vs. Frozen Peaches: Use fresh, ripe peaches for the best flavor. Frozen peaches work well too, but you may need to adjust the cooking time slightly.
Spice it Up: Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth.
Make it Hearty: Stir in a spoonful of nut butter or a tablespoon of chia seeds for added protein and healthy fats.
Overnight Oats: For a make-ahead option, combine all ingredients in a jar and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, give it a good stir and enjoy cold or reheat gently in the microwave.
