Yields: 2 servings
Prep time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
1 cup plain or Greek yogurt
1/4 cup granola
1/2 cup fresh berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and/or blackberries)
Honey or maple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)
Equipment:
Two glasses or parfait jars
Instructions:
Prepare the berries: Wash and dry the berries. If using strawberries, hull and slice them.
Layer the parfaits: In each glass or jar, start with a layer of yogurt. Top with a layer of granola, then a layer of berries. Repeat the layers until the glass is filled, ending with a layer of berries.
Drizzle with honey or maple syrup (optional): If desired, drizzle a small amount of honey or maple syrup over the top of each parfait.
Serve immediately: Enjoy your beautiful and delicious berry parfaits!
Tips:
For a more complex flavor, use a flavored yogurt, such as vanilla or honey.
To make the parfaits ahead of time, layer the ingredients in the glasses or jars and store them in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
If you don't have fresh berries, you can use frozen berries. Just be sure to thaw them before using.
You can also add other ingredients to your parfaits, such as nuts, seeds, or chocolate chips.
Variations:
Tropical Parfait: Use tropical fruits such as mango, pineapple, and kiwi.
Chocolate Berry Parfait: Use chocolate granola and add a layer of chocolate chips.
Peanut Butter Parfait: Use peanut butter yogurt and add a layer of chopped peanuts.
